Portland's dj tan’t
[Paul Lynch] discovered the coolness of djing as soon as he popped out
of his procreator. For his 3rd birthday he was gifted two fisher price
turntables and started mixin...he then threw a temper tantrum and broke
them. Inspired by indy rock, paul started playing guitar in bands Carpathia
and Only Connect during his college years. He also dj'ed
at KZUU (a college radio station at WSU) where he expanded his
knowledge on to hip-hop and electronic music. When Paul broke his guitar
and amp from a temper tantrum, he moved to Upstate New York. There he
spun hip hop, rock, jungle, drum n' bass and breakbeats while djing for
the college radio station, WSUC 90.7 The Dragon. He broke that
too. After relocating to Portland, Paul became better known as Tantrum
(dj tan't). He started a revolution by sampling layers of hip-hop beats
LIVE and composing classical piano parts from fellow messiah, Tyler
Evans. Teamed with Evans this unstoppable force started wrecking
everything in its path and throwing the biggest tantrum mankind has ever
seen.
